Flavio and Edna Gonzalez along with Jerry and Sandy Schwien travelled to Estes Park recently to witness the elk herds and hear them bugle.   They stopped for lunch at the historic Stanley Hotel before venturing into Rocky Mountain National Park where they got up close and personal with three large herds of elk.
Ed Olmsted visited grandkids and great grandkids in Portland, Oregon and also had time to sell a rental property.   Ed works player entrance security for the Colorado Rockies during baseball season, where he met the likes of Barry Bonds, Todd Helton, Albert Pujols and other baseball greats this summer.
Gene and Karen Alexander flew to Alaska in August and hopped aboard a cruise ship to view the glaciers.   That wasn't enough so in September, they travelled with friends from church to Hungary, Austria and the Chech Republic.
Roy and Linda Roper attended a tamarisk control workshop at Apishapa Ranch recently which was sponsored by conservation districts, the Division of Wildlife and the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory.   Roy stays active helping out the Fremont Conservation District and was honored several years ago with the State Earth Team Award for volunteerism.
